Financial Information

Cost of Attending the IIS PhD Program

University of North Texas tuition and fee schedules undergo regular updates. See the current UNT tuition and fees schedule for graduate students.

Getting Financial Help

While the prospect of paying for a doctoral program may seem daunting, there are numerous financial aid resources available to the IIS PhD student. These include various local and national scholarship opportunities, graduate fellowships and federal financial aid in the form of grants and loans. Because of the limited availability of funds and the need to support both new and continuing students, students are encouraged throughout the program to develop alternative sources of funding through sponsored projects and programs of research.

See Financial Assistance for more information.

Student Work Opportunities

The majority of doctoral students work part-time while attending the IIS PhD program. Some financial aid consists of teaching assistantships (TA), teaching fellowships (TF), and research project assistantships (RA).

See Student Employment for other job opportunities around campus.

Graduate Student Travel Grants

The Graduate School offers a limited number of grants to selected graduate students who are in good academic standing. These travel grants are offered to support the costs of travel to professional meetings that are relevant to their degree.

See Toulouse Graduate School Travel Grants for complete information.
